As a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over twenty years’ experience, Amir specializes in surgery of the face, jaws and mouth.

Whether you’re seeking corrective jaw surgery, worried about a lesion in your mouth or relief from troublesome wisdom teeth, Amir’s focus is on delivering bespoke treatment that meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

Training

Born and educated in London, Amir qualified in dentistry and in medicine with distinctions from the University of London. He was awarded many prizes as an undergraduate including The Knott Prize in Surgery. He embarked on surgical training initially in general and colorectal surgery, orthopaedics and intensive care medicine and then as a Higher Surgical Trainee in oral & maxillofacial surgery for five years before being appointed a consultant.

Practice philosophy

Amir’s practice philosophy is to do his best for his patients and continously strive to improve. For him, success is measured not only by technical results but by the confidence and comfort his patients feel throughout their treatment journey.

He believes in informing and educating his patients about their condition, encouraging a proactive approach to prevention and treatment. He will keep you informed at every stage of your treatment and will place your safety as his top priority.

He is registered and revalidated by the GMC and is on the Specialist Register for Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery, number 6077259.

Outside work he likes to spend time with his family and enjoys tech and web design (including this website) and his teaching on YouTube.

Teaching and reasearch:

Mr Ketabchi is an Honorary Lecturer at two local medical schools and is actively involved in selecting, teaching and examining of future doctors. He is also actively enagegd in training the next generation of surgeons and is recognised as a Trainer by the GMC.

He conducted research into treatment of mouth cancers and this led to national presentations, a national research prize and representing the UK at an international conference.

He is on the panel of reviewers for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
